From Stirling Trading Standards:

Dear Mr Taylor,

In order to operate a business of this type the premises where the alcohol is dispatched from will require to be licensed. Could I confirm if your premises will be in the Stirling Council area?

You will require a premises licence and a personal licence for the person who is named as manager. Please telephone me and I can discuss the matter in more detail with you before I send out all the required forms.

Regards

Sharbing advice on MSE Forum

Sorry for being stupid, but could I please confirm that you guys are picking Midweek coupons up on a Monday morning and asking for Weekend coupons on a Wednesday (in general)?

In general, yes. (Also Euro coupons, sometimes available midweek, regularly available weekends and generally published later than the UK coupons).

Topcashback

Topcashback gets a good write-up on MSE forums. I've signed up. Hopefully I will be able to raise a little cash via Tesco and Amazon. You can sign up here:

To Stirling Trading Standards

Hi,

I would like to start an Alcohol Delivery service along the lines of:

http://www.boozersdelivery.com/

Could you please advise me as to what licenses would be required to keep this business compliant?

Kind regards,

Ross Taylor.

Today's Actions

Put my name down for loads of freebies.
Walked up to Stirling Castle and back down.

Where are the Sharbs?

Still no sniff on a Sharb yet. Closest one today looks to be the Chelsea/ Barcelona game, where the Betfair lay price for Barcelona is equal to the best available back price on the coupons (Badblokes).

Elsewhere I've entered a few competitions and I'm expecting a freebie bottle of lucozade in the post.

Tuesday 17 April 2012

Today's Work

Collected the Midweek coupons from 5 betting shops today (Billy Hill, Badblokes, Coral, Betfred and Scotbet). For the life of me I can't find a sharb in any of them. Nearest thing is on the Champiuons League finals, but even those would have to move by a good half point to lock in profits. I will have to keep my eye on the Sharb forums - they may not even exist.

Elsewhere I've applied for 3 freebies. Why are make-up manufacturers and seed wholesalers so keen on doing freebies?

Finally, I've signed up for Nectar's in house survey firm. They pay out in Nectar points - sweet!

Call me Compo

15 competitions in the bank today and also put my name down for a new ITV quiz.

Saturday 14 April 2012

Comping Bank

Banked half an hour of Comping time tonight. Probably got 15 to 20 in the bag. Have diarised Comps as a Saturday job for the rest of the year.

Gartmorn Dam

Had a nice walk round Gartmorn Dam, Sauchie with a couple of my mates this morning. We discussed Sharbing. I think a target of mine this week should be to get at least one sharb in the bag.

Grand National Day

The Grand National is a complete lottery, everything from favourites to 100/1 shots have won it. Even so, it is a Sporting Event which cannot be ignored. Here are my bets and lays for today. Let's see how I do.

Placepot

1: 1,8,9
2: 3
3: 1,2
4: 4,7,12
5: 11,14,19,34
6: 4,8

10p lines equals a £14.40 stake.

Lays (all laid to a £100 liability on Betfair at SP):

1: 2,3,5,6.
2: 1,2,4
3: 3,4
4: 1,2,3,5,6,8,11,14
5: 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,10,12,13,15,17,21,22,23,24,25,27,28,29,30,31,33,35,37,38,39,40

I think the winner of the Grand National will come from:

Alfa Beat
Chicago Grey
Shakalakkaboomboom
According to Pete
Always Right
Cappa Bleu
Rare Bob
Sunnyhillboy
Swing Bill
Giles Cross
Vic Venturi

My 4 favoured are the ones highlighted in the Placepot selection. The Grand National is Race 5 of the card.

Good Luck.

Race against Zombies!

I love Business Unusual's new "Race with the Zombies" business idea. It is basically just the old game of Cat and Mouse for Adults. I think this is the sort of thing which would go great with the "Big Red Balls" idea I put forward a few months back.

Rangersagram

Love the idea of setting up a "Rangersagram" service. For a small fee I could call a member of the great unwashed and spout bile down the phone to them. This is the sort of thing that would work!
