Stan James - £17.67

Introductory offer shenanigans have led to a £17.67 profit from Stan James online. Nice - but the guy who has been guiding me through this stream is now looking for commission.

Do I show my gratitude by agreeing to give him a cut? Or do I tell him to sling it? What would Jesus do????

£50 from the CSA

My £50 ex-gratia payment from the CSA arrived today. Should be £5000 but that's one for another day.

I will relish paying this cheque into the bank after all the hassle that the CSA give me.

Fight them till the Death........ (CSA)

Dear Sir/ Madam,
Further to your offer of an ex-gratia payment, I am writing to say that I am now suffering extreme financial hardship due to the errors of your organisation. It is now over a month since I pointed out (not for the first time) that I made direct child support payments in 2003 and 2004. The account breakdown you sent me had not included these payments. By my reckoning that made me c. £1800 ahead. Despite your admission of this I have still had a very large deduction from my wage packet on 31/5/10 and 30/6/10. These deductions have totaled more than £1000. I am afraid that in light of this I must be informed of how I can take this matter further. I feel that I have been a victim of theft. I cannot simply accept that "someone is doing their job". I am also deeply aggrieved by your method of “guilty until proven innocent” and lack of communication (I was not made aware of your intention to deduct over £500 from my wages until after it had actually happened).
In a nutshell, could you please advise me of the course of action I must take in order to initiate court proceedings for the return of my money? As mentioned, I am looking for:
1. The overpayment which your account breakdown itself indicated I have made.
2. The c. £1100 in deductions you have taken from me recently.
3. My £50 ex-gratia payment.

This is c. £3000 – enough debt for a small claims court to declare a person bankrupt. Given this sum I think it is only right that I receive a proper written reply in timely fashion. For too long I have put up with standard letters, which 9 times out of 10 are completely forgotten about or contradicted within a month.
Regards,

R.W. Taylor.

The Weekend of Death

When I finished work on Friday Afternoon things were looking on the up. Andy Murray's exit at Wimbledon had brought the Betfair fund over £1000 and I had good reason to believe that I'd break £1100 by the time I returned to work on Monday morning.

The end-result couldn't be further from that! First of all Sunshine was evicted from the Big Brother house despite all the polls saying she was the least likely of the 3 nominated to walk. This is the second time in a fortnight that this has happened which means that I'm really pissed off with myself for not learning my lessons.

Things picked up over Saturday and Sunday where I pulled back £65 via the remaining World Cup Quarter Finals and Rafael Nadal's victory in the Wimbledon singles.

The death knell came up tonight though when, in a rush of blood, I backed under 4.5 goals in a Norwegian game (what was I thinking?), only to see the game end 4-1.

All in all I'm down £500 this weekend. A real shocker.

I really need to start sticking to my own rules. The Betfair fund is for in-play football bets only. And only when I have live coverage of the game via radio or TV.

The next stage of the Fund starts tomorrow. I've lost this battle - I just need to make sure I win the war.
